 Kurt and I moved into our new home on wheels and we are loving it! We are toughing it out right now in Minnesota but should soon move on to warmer horizons :-) We thought we would launch a separate blog to document our adventures of living full time in an RV. In addition to the blog, Kurt has created a gallery that will feature photographs from our travels. For a small fee you can download one or more of these photographs and use them however you like! The resolution of these digital files is ideal for greeting cards, photographic prints, wallpaper for your mobile device, screensaver for your computer, the list goes on!  We have collaborated with a long time friend of ours, Kelly McManus, to create a children's book featuring Kurt's photography! Kelly is a talented designer/creative director and has written small stories or vignettes to go along with his photos. A Kickstarter campaign was launched yesterday in the attempt to get this children's book published. Kickstarter is a great platform to crowdfund projects like this book; you back us by pledging/buying an advance copy and in turn get fun exclusive rewards in addition to a copy of the book itself. Please check it out here: http://kck.st/18ggVna Thank you!  A while back, we self-published a fine art photography book titled "Un Petit Monde Life's Little Pleasures". We made this book a limited edition (to 500) and because of the high cost to produce it, we printed just a couple dozen to sell at the art fairs we were participating in. Unfortunately, all of those books have sold out... But more are on the way! We promised many people out there that we would have another batch of books printed before the holidays, and we will! They are currently being printed and I expect to have them prior to December 1st. Because we will have a limited number of books available for the holiday season, those of you that have asked us to hold a copy(s) for you, please contact us! The book is printed by Edition One Books out of Berkeley California. It is a soft cover, 130 page book of Un Petit Monde photos. The size is 8"x8.5" and there are around 60 color images inside. Kurt  Over the past year or so, Edwige and I have considered living in an RV full-time. Sound crazy? Well, maybe... But we are very excited about it! We don't plan to live the rest of our lives out of it, but we'll be calling it home for the foreseeable future.
The RV we chose is a 1967 Dodge Travco. Finding one in good condition and within our budget was a challenge! Like any 46 year old starter home it has a list of to-dos before we can move in. Eventually we'd like to install solar panels and re-carpet the floor, but for the time being we just need to figure out the simple necessities: heat, fresh water, functioning toilet and a comfortable bed. Our ongoing photo project (Un Petit Monde) is a major part of why we chose to move into an RV. During the months of January and February we will be in Florida showing the work at a couple different art fairs. We also have plans to photograph the minis in the Southwestern U.S. during the month of March, then back to Minnesota for the spring and summer art fair circuit. That's the plan anyway. Edwige and I will blog about our travels and adventures (or misadventures) as we start out on this new life. It won't be easy, but then nothing in life worth doing ever is. Kurt |
