Downtime

7/30/2013

Edwige and I finished up our second-to-last art fair of the summer in Stockholm, Wisconsin on July 20th. We have really enjoyed showing and selling my work at the fairs! We hope to be doing the art fair circuit full-time next year and are considering doing some shows in Florida this winter. Our final show of the summer will be on September 14th & 15th at the Fall into the Arts Festival located in Edina, MN.

Until then, Edwige and I have some downtime and have been spending it with some close friends (see pics). Well, thats not entirely true :-) I was contracted to photograph the Starkey Gala in St. Paul last Sunday. President Clinton, Sir Richard Branson, Keith David and Evander Holyfield were gracious enough to take pics with my wife!

I would have loved to photograph some miniatures on the red carpet but that may have been a little unprofessional... Maybe next time!

We are truly looking forward to be part of the Stockholm Art Fair on July 20. It's a one-day fair in a quaint little town overlooking Lake Pepin. Stockholm, WI is 21 miles south of Red Wing, MN on US Hwy 35, on the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi. If you have a chance, stop by!

In less than a couple weeks, we will be showing Kurt's work at the 23rd Annual Grand Marais Arts Festival on July 13-14, 2013.

Grand Marais is a gorgeous little town with a big artist community situated on the shore of Lake Superior, about 2 hours north of Duluth.  We love it there!

Our First Art Fair

Last weekend Kurt and I displayed his artwork in the 44th Annual Park Point Art Fair, Duluth.
Over the two days, we met many interesting people and had some great conversations. The weather turned out to be really nice and Lake Superior, especially at dusk and dawn, is a very special experience. We are definitely planning to return next year!

Saturday's crowd
At the end of our first day, Kurt could not resist the unusual gray, diffused light on Lake Superior so we set out for the beach.
